That’s a fancy way of saying that it’s a type of communication that uses videos and images to talk about aspects of your business and what you offer, instead of words.

You’ve heard the expression “a picture is worth 1,000 words.” Well, research is proving that the sentiment behind the old saying is true. Pictures and videos really do have communication superpowers. 

According to experts, we’re becoming a “visually-mediated society.” That means that we’re actually moving away from symbols, like language, and back into the real world when talking to each other, preferring pictures instead, like our ancestors. 

The data back up this statement. People remember around 10 percent of what they hear and 20 percent of what they read, but a whopping 80 percent of what they see. The human brain, it appears, just loves consuming the visual. It seems more meaningful than words on a page or radio advertising. 

How Can Businesses Develop Powerful Visual Styles? 

So, as a business owner, your question is; “how can I tap into all this marketing power?”

In truth, you have several options. Hiring AV labor is a good start. This way, you can get the people you need to shoot videos quickly, without having to hire an entirely new marketing team and put them on the payroll. 

Next, you’ll want to explore the types of visual forms you might want to use. Video is a great option. But you might want to experiment with ideograms as well. After all, humanity has been using these pictorial signs for thousands of years. 

If your message is a little more technical, you could try your hand at statistical representation. The idea here is to display data in a form that people can quickly grasp and understand. Things like bar charts, treemaps, and Gantt charts all go down well. But you should only use these if you absolutely have to to get your message across. 

In summary, visual communication does more than conveying a message. It also builds your brand. Firms that invest in it extensively often find that they have significantly more traction online. Today’s users want quick visual snippets that provide them with the information they can use right away. They don’t take kindly to waiting. And so videos can be a great way to grab their attention. 
What’s more, most people don’t have the patience to work their way through a dense and detailed blog. If they have the choice, they would much prefer to receive their content in a visual form.
